The Lythic Hard Wear Floor is a cost-effective alternative to diamond polishing.

Diamond polishing produces a beautiful, durable floor, but it is a labor intensive, consumable-intensive process that can exceed some budgets.

Using the unique properties of Lythic Densifier, a new polishing-alternative has been perfected. The Lythic HardWear Floor is based on a double treatment of Lythic Reactive Colloidal Silica densifiers that, when burnished, produce a near-polished gloss at a fraction of the cost. It has all the performance properties of a polished concrete floor, and similar low maintenance requirements. The method is applicable to hard-troweled floors in good condition, or slabs smoothed by light grinding.

The protocol is simple:

Clean slab to remove any surface residue.
Densify with Lythic Densifier.
Clean
Densify again with Lythic XL Densifier, a special formulation with larger (45-nanometer) silica particles.
Burnish with black stripper pad on high speed burnishing machine. Gloss appears.
Stain protect
Burnish to enhance curing and gloss.
